Faster smokers senile

Kapanlagi.com - A study in England found that a smoker will experience memory problems in middle age.
Starting in the early age of 40 to 50 years, smokers will experience a rapid decline in memory, compared with nonsmokers.
The study, published in the American Journal of Public Health shows that the relationship between smoking and dementia appeared stronger in people who smoke more than 20 cigarettes each day.
Dr. Marcus Richards says smoking causes accelerated memory loss is still unclear. "We suspect, smoking can speed up memory impairment with increased risk of hypertension. And hypertension can damage the brain," explained the researchers from University College London.
Alternatively, chemicals in cigarette smoke could also damage the brain directly. "Whatever the reason, this research hhasil obvious," he added. "This is one reason that people quit smoking."
The study involved 5362 people aged above average 40s. (Reuters / Tutut)
