Can Green Tea Cure Parkinson's

It seems more and more green tea showed a lot of health benefits. We've all heard is that green tea can protect us from cancer and heart disease. Well, it seems that green tea can prevent Parkinson's disease, according to a study presented at the regular meeting of the American Academy of Neurology.
One group of Houston researchers examined polyphenols, a powerful antioxidant which is the main component of green tea. Previous animal studies indicated that green tea extract may have the effect of preventing Parkinson's. However, the mechanisms underlying this protection is not yet understood by experts.
Parkinson's disease occurs when brain cells that produce a substance called dopamine, die in the brain that controls movement. Because dopamine levels fall, trembling and uncontrollable seizures movement occurs. Parkinson's patients also have a very slow motion and some suffer from dementia.
Some theories claim that Parkinson's is caused by toxic substances that kill brain cells and causes dopamine levels fall. The researchers wanted to see whether the securities owned or green tea polyphenols on brain cells.
In research on mice, researchers discovered that the polyphenols inhibit the MPP + to enter brain cells, an ingredient known to kill brain cells and causes Parkinson's in mice.
Polyphenols appear to be involved in the distribution system which allows toxins into brain damage, researchers said Tianhong Pan, MD, PhD, from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in a press release. Effects of polyphenols in the brain has not been tested in humans, but if you want to try and have a problem with the taste of green tea, you can try green tea capsules are available in the market.
